A Prayer for Surgery
Father, we praise you forThis is the way of life. As we prepare forMany things flow from our minds, including surgery for the body You have given. andWe wait in silence, and our hearts are open to healing. Yet, You reassure us in Exodus 15:26: “I am the Lord who heals you.”
We have an end picture in our minds as to what “healed” looks like forWe are here andWe are desperate to see You forOur lives are secure andOur pain will be cured. You are greater than all. andAll are capable of healing. Jesus healed everyone by touching His hand when He walked on the earth. andHis voice. We ask that You heal us Lord. andHear Your voice for peace andThe loud, uncontrollable pain that throbs through the mind is replaced by tranquility and peace. and bodies.
We are grateful forA life that is worth living andTo those around us. There is nothing to be worried about. andWe are thankful for the life we’ve been blessed with on this earth to covet our return to it andIt will be restored to its original condition. In praise of You, we offer our gratitude. forThe gift of being able and able to walk this earth and experience Your love.
Father, please forgive us forDoubting our purpose in life. We are honest about how many times we have run away from the things You want us to do, because it seems too difficult. As we wait for the results of surgery, we feel compelled now to reach back. andWe should seize every opportunity to support Your Son in pursuit Your will. for our lives. We ask for forgiveness. andInadequacy of respect for Your timing andYour plans. We need your help to place our current plans. andFuture ambitions are to bring You glory. andTo all who know me, the love of Your son
We trust You with all our lives, Father. For You promise us: “Lord my God, I called to you forHelp and you healed me.” (Psalm 30:2) Bless the surgeons andWe will be treated by medical personnel. They are your friends. andAllow them to become extensions of Your healing hand. Lord, you are always there for me, even when my pain medication makes me fall asleep. I need to feel Your presence. andRemember that You are always there for me. Never leave. Always faithful. Loving me more than I’m capable of understanding.
And now forThe hardest part is to trust in Your ability to determine the course of my life. For it’s when our plans for healing don’t look the same as Yours that we become frustrated, andFaith can pull us out of our hearts. Doubt can sneak in through cracks in unanticipated circumstances. Jesus Christ, help us to remember You in those times. We cannot love You if your ways are different from Yours. forWe are here. Only You can determine perfection andJust in our daily lives. Our time here is fleeting. But our belief in You, Jesus sets us apart andWe are guaranteed a happy and healthy life. Pain-free andIt is a place of peace.
Please help us to keep that belief alive. To keep holding onto You. As we travel this road of uncertainty, send Your Holy Spirit to inspire our heart’s memory of Your sweet words of promise. Please help us to recall andReaffirm the promises that You made through Your Word. Be with our families andAs they worry, friends andWonder what the result will be. Encourage Your love in their hearts andAssure them that their lives are in Your capable hands.
Father, let all my friends witness my peace. andKnow that it comes from You. Thank you forGod is life. Bless andThrough this surgery, you can heal me today. Whether You bring me through these ailments to restore me upright on this earth, or take me through to You, I trust You… today, andAlways. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
