League of Legends Esports

League of Legends Esports is a multiplayer online battle arena video game developed by Riot Games. In this world, players take control of ‘summoners’ who control their own champion or heroes to fight against other players on a specific map. The goal for each team is to destroy the enemy’s base or nexus.

This year, the international and world championship is hosted by IEM (Intel Extreme Masters) Katowice in Poland on 10-11 March 2015, where 16 teams from around the world compete to earn their place in the World Championship in April and October, with a total prize pool of $250,000.

Know about the teams of League of Legends Esports tournament:-

The participants in this tournament include Team Solomid (TSM), Cloud 9 (C9), Gambit Gaming, Fnatic World Elite (FnaticW), Kabum e-Sports (Kabum!), KOO Tigers (KOO), and many more. Among the participants is also the Australian team of Legacy, who backs to IEM Katowice as part of the team’s first major international appearance. Although they are not one of the favorites in this competition, they were one of four teams who qualified for IEM Katowice through the online qualifier. The other three teams are Team Immunity (Australia), Bangkok Titans (Thailand), and Brazilian team paiN Gaming.

All of the teams above were divided into two groups, Group A and Group B. Each team in League of Legends Esports has five players, including four players who are responsible for specific functions (Jungler, Toplaner, Midlaner, and Marksman), while the other player acts as a support to help their teammates by giving them buffs or items. Group A consists of TSM, Cloud 9, Fnatic World Elite, Team Immunity, and paiN Gaming. Meanwhile, Group B has Kabum e-Sports, KOO Tigers, Gambit Gaming, Bangkok Titans, and Legacy eSports on board.

TSM is a group consisting of 5 members: Marcus “Dyrus” Hill, Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg, Kevin “Hauntzer” Yarnell, Jason “WildTurtle” Tran and Ham “Lustboy” Jang-sik. Team Solomid is an American professional team in North America LCS (League of Legends Championship Series), founded in April 2012. Their achievements include winning the 2013 NA LCS Spring Split, 2014 NA LCS Summer Split, 2015 NA LCS Spring Split, and 2016 IEM Season X World Championship. Just recently, on February 6-7th, TSM won the ‘IEM Taipei’ tournament in Taiwan after beating Team WE from China in a best of 5 series with a score of 3-1.

Talking about the other teams of League of Legends Esports:-

Cloud 9 is a group consisting of 5 members: An “Balis” Le, Zachary “Sneaky” Scuderi, Derek “LemonNation” Hart, Hai Dang ‘Hai’ Lam, and DaJuan “ShorterACE” Hailey. Cloud 9 was originally an American e-sport team founded in December 2012, which began participating in the League of Legends Esports Championships Series (LCS) North America.

Their most famous achievement is winning the LCS North American Region with a score of 25-3. Their next achievement was being the first place winner at IEM Katowice for season 5 after defeating European teams Fnatic and Origen.

Fnatic World Elite is a professional European team in the EU LCS (League of Legends Esports Championship Series), founded in October 2011. Fnatic won the first place winner match for IEM Katowice, season 5, after defeating Team Solomid from North America with a score of 3-0. They also took home the win with a score of 3-0 against Origen in the European Region finals, which happened on February 28th, 2015.

Talking about Kabum and northern teams of League Of Legends Esports:-

Kabum e-Sports is a Brazilian team that managed to take 2nd rank at IEM Katowice with a score of 2-1 against Gambit Gaming from Russia. The team is led by Gabriel “Revolta” Henud, who previously played for paiN Gaming and was a former Jungler for Keyd Stars.

KOO Tigers is a South Korean team that managed to win 2nd rank at IEM Katowice with a score of 2-0 against Fnatic from Europe. KOO stands for ‘KOOSTARS,’ which is a gaming organization based in Seoul. Kabum e-Sports is a subsidiary of this company, but now it has been confirmed that they will be acquired by the Chinese team, LGD Gaming.

Legacy eSports is an Australian team backed to IEM Katowice as part of the team’s first major international appearance. Although they are not one of the favorites in this competition, they were one of four teams who qualified for IEM Katowice through the online qualifier. The other three teams are Team Immunity (Australia), Bangkok Titans (Thailand), and Brazilian team paiN Gaming.
